PolitiFact Florida: Fact-checking another attack ad against Bill Nelson

If you're in the Tampa Bay area and you've watched cable news this week, you've likely seen this ad:

"Florida patients and seniors deserve to know what are the facts about President Barack Obama?s health care law. Fact: Bill Nelson was the deciding vote. The bill could cost up to $2 trillion, double what we were promised. Nelson?s health care vote imposes the largest tax increase in history on the middle class, cuts $500 billion from Medicare to pay for new government programs, and millions could lose their current coverage. Tell Bill Nelson: Protect Florida patients, repeal the health care law."

The ad says it has the facts, but it doesn't. It's far-fetched that Nelson was the deciding vote. The cost estimates for the law haven't doubled. And the law isn't the largest tax increase on the middle class in history. PolitiFact Florida rated the various claims Mostly False, False and Pants on Fire! Read our full report to find out which claim got the worst rating.
